Mayor Emanuel is fighting an uphill battle for reelection. A recent poll shows that if the Democratic primary for Chicago mayor was held today Toni Preckwinkle, the Cook County Board President, would defeat Rahm Emanuel by an 8% margin. Although she intends on running for reelection as Board President, Preckwinkle has not ruled out challenging Emanuel in February 2015.
