Mining, quarrying, oil and gas extraction jobs have the highest starting salaries for recent graduates, but also the lowest numbers of new employee entrants, only 1200 for the 2013 year according to the National Association of Colleges and Employees. Last year there were many more entrants in other industries; 61,000 for management, 110,000 for manufacturing, and 450,000 for educational services.
