Global annual crop production since the 1960s has more than doubled, a striking testament to improvements in modern farming practices. Such leaps in productivity have come at a cost, however. Investments in no-till farming, cover cropping and other more eco-friendly techniques will need to be looked into to maintain the sustainability of both the environment and the farming industry.
