Smartphones are getting better and more advanced year after year, but how often Americans upgrade their phones is a matter of heated debate. A small majority of Americans only upgrade their phone after it has become completely obsolete, while most others upgrade as soon as their provider will allow it. Only about one in fifty Americans buy a new phone as soon as an updated version is released.
