After the implementation of new, rigorous test standards, test scores experienced a decline. According to this year's results, only a minority of students in grades 3-8 were considered proficient in math and English. Last year, 55 percent of students were considered proficient in English and 65 percent were proficient in math. These tests were administered over six days in April.
