A 2009 British Council survey concluded that 70% of adults had at least heard of Charles Darwin and that 56% agreed there was enough evidence to support his theory of evolution. Overall, only 14% of adults who understand at least a little about Darwin's theory reject it. In the US, 30% of adults fall into this category.
