A little perspective never hurts. While Ebola has ravaged much of western Africa recently and is a popular topic in the media, the disease doesn't even compare to the continent's big killer diseases.

Maybe this is the needed dose of perspective. But growth rate matters. Ebola has gone from 0 to 13 in short time. Is the growth going to decline or accelerate exponentially?

While the growth rate is likely to experience an exponential increase for a certain duration, even with the growth rate it will be unlikely for the Ebola epidemic to reach the levels of the top three killers.
