According to Walk Free Foundation there are an estimated 29.8 million people enslaved around the world. The countries with the highest numbers of enslaved people are India, China, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Russia, Thailand, Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Taken together, these countries account for 76% of enslaved people around the world.
Considering that the U.S. has the highest number of incarcerated people in the world and that most? prisons require inmates to work for UNICOR, often making supplies for war, I think the U.S. should be way closer to the top. There is a reason that the only place slavery is legal in the U.S. constitution is in prison (and that Black people are way disproportionately incarcerated due to when slavery was made illegal in America, it was made legal in prisons, and now we have slavery American style).
