On October 30, as 26 Palestinian prisoners were released over the objections of Israeli citizens, the Israeli Interior Ministry announced plans to construct 1,500 homes in the Ramat Shlomo settlement in East Jerusalem. Following day, Israel announced that more plans to build settlements were moving though the pipeline and on November 12 reports surfaced of 20,000 new settlement units.
