In the name of fighting against the drug cartels that have ravaged the country with violence, Mexicans heavily support United States-backed training for their police and military. There is also strong, though more moderate, support for more direct measures such as American provided weapons and financial backing. The line, however, is crossed with deployment of US troops in the country.
