When asked "What do you think is more important - to protect the right of Americans to own guns, OR to control gun ownership?" Americans often responded according to the latest headlines. Support of gun rights rose after the Trayvon Martin event (Feb. 2012), but decreased after Newtown (Dec. 2012).
